Barr Realty & Auction Co. was founded in 1970 by Alfred Barr (1928-1983). Since its inception the company has sold millions of dollars worth of real and personal property using the auction method. While the total sum of these auctions result in an impressive figure, we conduct a wide variety of auctions….from small household auctions to hundreds of acres of timberland. Every auction – regardless of its size receives the same professional attention.

We have come to be recognized as experts in our field. We have marketed all types of real estate and personal property, including farms, condominiums, resorts, residential, commercial, industrial properties and investment properties.

We are full-time professional auctioneers and real estate professionals. We are members of the National Auctioneers Association, Kentucky Auctioneers Association, Indiana Auctioneer Association and the Auction Marketing Institute at Indiana University. When you employ us you are not hiring someone who just holds a license and seldom practices the auction profession. We work in the auction profession daily and you can count on us to handle your auction professionally.

Our auctions are well organized and efficient. The orderly result you see on auction day comes from hard work and many hours of background planning by our auction crew. As soon as we set a date and the agreement is signed to do an auction, we begin to develop the procedure to effectively market and prepare the property.
